Membership Growth Supports Glazing Summit Optimism

JustinJustin Ratcliffe, (CAB Chief Executive)

A total of 23 new members have joined CAB to the end of September highlighting the optimism raised at the recent Glazing Summit 2019 where Jade Greenhow, Operations Director, Insight Data announced a 9% increase in aluminium fabricators from 2017- 2019.

Given the increases in membership CAB is experiencing and the strategic moves many traditional PVCu companies have made into the near 100% recyclable material, it was perhaps an unsurprising statistic. Jade also revealed, at the sold out Summit at Edgbaston Cricket Club, a 26% increase in the number of aluminium fabricators offering sliding doors in the same period and the trend towards premium entrance doors.

Council for Aluminium in Building
The Council for Aluminium in Building (CAB) was formed in 1994 by the
bringing together of three existing trade associations, the Architectural
Aluminium Association, the Patent Glazing Contractors Association and
the Aluminium Window Association, all of whom had been established for
well over 25 years. Our mission is to support the interests of the
architectural aluminium industry by encouraging the increasing use of
aluminium products in architecture and the construction industry as a
whole, to encourage quality and best practice, to set new technical
standards and protect members' business and contractual interest. In
addition we are driving forward the development of a national training
structure for the sector and have received major grants from the DTI to
assist in this activity.
