Third factory
September 2017

North East fabricator the TWR Group has opened a third factory only a year after opening its second.

The new 17,000sqft unit, next door to its 25,000sqft HQ in Peterlee, will house production of its recently launched eternAL bi-fold door, as well as a dual-colour production facility, which will be operational from January 2018.

TWR currently manufactures around 85 bi-folding doors per week. Company founder and managing director Terry Richardson said: “The new factory represents another milestone in the group’s history and is a product of the success we are having as a company. It’s amazing to think that only a year ago we opened our second factory and now here we are with another major investment. We have big plans and anticipate more growth and investment in the coming months and years.”

The new factory follows the roll-out of several new products and investments over the past 12 months including the Stratus Roofs and Warmcore. The company also invested in a colour facility to speed up lead times on dual-coloured aluminium bi-folding doors.

TWR’s original factory in Sunderland manufactures Rehau PVCu windows and doors, Stratus aluminium lantern roofs and Warmcore.
