Adding strength with new curtain
wall system
October 2019

Senior Architectural Systems has developed a new aluminium curtain wall system that allows architects to create sleek and expansive fenestration designs, all with the added reassurance of accommodating greater structural movement.

The new SF62 aluminium curtain wall system has been specifically developed for use on projects where structural movement may be a challenge, such as high-rise schemes or those that incorporate large spans of glazing.  Combining an aluminium frame with a wider 62mm box, the increased rebate size means that it is possible to provide either additional clearance between the section and infill, so that the system is able to allow the glass to move more, or greater edge cover for issues such as guarding.

The new SF62 curtain wall system can support transom loads of up to 750kg and achieve longer glazing spans without the need for additional supporting steel to be used. Not only does this remove potential extra costs and risks, but also creates a façade that benefits from wider views and maximum daylighting.

Similar in design to Senior’s SF52 aluminium curtain wall system, the new SF62 also boasts exceptional thermal performance that not only meets but exceeds current building regulations, and has been fully weather tested.
Compatible with other products within Senior’s comprehensive range, further design flexibility is available via the company’s state of the art in-house powder coating facility which enables all of Senior’s fenestration solutions to be specified in an almost unlimited choice of colours and protective finishes.
