‘Labour and time saving’
November 2016

PolyFrame Composite Doors has invested in a new Fom Adir C CNC Machining Centre supplied by the PROMAC GROUP.

Featuring a three axes worktable with -90°, 0° and +90° positioning, the Fom Adir C has supported Polyframe in achieving a 90 per cent labour saving as well as reducing the manufacturing time of frames.

Stewart Peat, Managing Director, said: “The new Fom Adir, has strengthened our production facility further, with labour efficiency reducing by as much as 90% within the prepping facility area, allowing more control and accuracy.

“This has allowed us to deliver improved quality and perhaps most significantly, lead times, which we have now reduced to just five days, inclusive of delivery nationwide.”

FOM Adir CNC standard features include the pneumatic rotation of the worktable; 4 pneumatic vices with manual positioning and double pressure, with safety valves and manually adjustable profile reference stops on the right and the left of the worktable; plus perimetric guard and front receding guard.

The Adir CNC comes with manual tool change as standard with tool-holder deposit while an automatic five position tool change is available as an option.

The machining centre is operated from an adjustable console with PC, Touch screen 15” keyboard and mouse.

Stewart continued: “I first started working with Promac in 1996 and every time the support has been fantastic, not just in terms of identifying the right machinery but also the installation”
