Green business of the year

CMS Enviro Systems has been shortlisted for The Scottish Business Awards – in the category Green Business of the Year.

The Scottish Business Awards bring the Scottish business community together, to recognise the achievements that have gone before, raise a considerable amount for charity, and lead the drive to make a positive social impact in Scotland. Categories include; Entrepreneur of the Year; The Deloitte Growth Strategy of the Year; The Microsoft Young Entrepreneur of the Year; and The Royal Bank of Scotland New Business of the Year.

With over 250 businesses entering across 12 categories, shortlisted companies will now be put forward to the main judging panel, which is chaired by BBC Dragon’s Den star Duncan Bannatyne OBE and made up of Scotland's most illustrious business leaders, business journalists and academics.

The keynote speaker at the ceremony to be held in February 2012 will be Nobel Peace Prize winner, Professor Muhammad Yunus who founded the Grameen Bank, and in doing so pioneered the micro-finance movement that has become a global phenomenon and changed the face of banking. He is known as the ‘Banker to the Poor’ and is one of the world's leading thinkers on how business can be a force for social change.

Andrew Kerr, managing director of CMS Enviro Systems said: “We are delighted to be shortlisted for this prestigious cross-industry award. We have been at the forefront of environmental initiatives in our industry for several years now, so to get this level of recognition is a fantastic achievement for the company.”
