Epwin steps into ali with
Stellar system launch
May 2019

Epwin Window Systems kicked off the FIT Show with the unveiling of its first major move into aluminium, the Stellar window and door system aimed at the retail and light commercial sector.

Stellar includes two casement window options – one fully flush inside and out, the other flush outside and stepped inside – and a flush door. An aluminium bifold door that was launched at FIT 2017 will now also be included within the brand and a lift and slide patio door is to be added in the summer.

In fact, the system is 15-20% quicker to fabricate than rival systems and uses approximately 30% less aluminium, reduces labour costs and minimises waste.

These are achieved with features such as a fully pre-gasketed bead, sash and outerframe, something the company says is unique in the market. There is also a patent-pending reverse butt joint, which is fabricated without the need for dummy sashes or reverse adaptor profiles.

Installation is also said to be up to 20% quicker than other systems, thanks to features such as the patent-pending knock-in bead, which means no wedge gaskets are needed, making it quicker to glaze.

The system offers a thermal efficiency rating as low as 1.1W/m2K with triple glazing. It uses Yale door and window hardware, so benefits from the Yale Lifetime Security Guarantee.
