CAB has hailed the FIT Show 2017 as a great success overall with 34 member companies exhibiting and 15 of those supporting the vibrant 518m2 CAB Pavilion which boasted some exciting product launches. Just under 10,000 unique visitors attended over the 3 days and it was clear that an excellent cross section of the aluminium in building residential supply chain had come out with the consensus that exhibitors had really ‘gone large’ with their stands. The CAB Pavilion proved to be an excellent meeting point with considerable interest in the benefits that the Association could offer both Fabricators and Installers.
One of the key talking points on the Pavilion was the new CAB Skills Card offering essential 1 day training courses in Fabrication or Installation which incorporated 3 NVQ Level 2 Units. With the ‘Skills Gap’ on everyone’s mind it was perhaps unsurprising that a number of visitors were interested to know the full potential of the Card and how it could help an individual’s learning opportunities. It was interesting to note that one or two employers could see the benefit of their Apprentices and new starters using the Skills Cards as a means of demonstrating competency in areas where they did not necessarily need to undertake a full NVQ in Fabrication or Installation.
The CAB’s new ‘Why Aluminium’ brochure proved popular. Produced in a simple gatefold A4 the publication highlights the benefits of investing in long lasting aluminium for the home and is a great addition to any showroom, encouraging members of the public to purchase from a CAB member company.
CAB Welcomes New Members
CAB was delighted to present aluminium plaques at the FIT to two of its newest members in Vent Engineering (CAB Stand 32) and Greenways Contemporary (CAB Stand 34) – both exhibiting on the Pavilion.
Lorenzo Jones, Vent Engineering commented, ‘We are delighted to join and exhibiting at the FIT Show has matched our expectations with the help of CAB’.
Meanwhile John Green, Greenways Contemporary said, ‘We are pleased to be a member of CAB and have found our location on the CAB Pavilion to be perfect to show off our minimal glazing product’.
CAB has also successfully recruited a further 5 members in 2017 who have been attracted by the Association’s technical capabilities and the wide ranging promotional, training and networking opportunities.
