Tower block refurb

Priestman Point, a tower block at Bow in the East End of London, has just had a major refurbishment inside and out. High performance windows have been fitted, the insulation has been improved and a new community centre added at ground level.

London based PRP Architects were in charge of the project. Security was a major consideration at the design stage, so PRP specified Charter Integr8 shutters.

“Charter was very helpful and provided good technical support,” said PRP. “We’d certainly recommend them. The development looks good and the residents know their community centre is safe.”

The community centre, built around two sides of the old tower and incorporating unused ground floor space, houses an IT suite, community hall and ball court and is linked to the Housing Association Office by computer.
