Specialist award

Alumet recently collected the Building award for Specialist Contractor of the Year.

Director Dean Walton collected the award from comedian Michael McIntyre in front of 1300 construction professionals at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London’s Park Lane.

The judges commended the company for standing out from the competition with exceptional levels of innovation, coupled with outstanding investment in sustainability and staff training.

Dean said: “We are honoured to receive this award. The Building Awards are one of the most prestigious and coveted awards in the industry and to be named as Specialist Contractor of the Year is fantastic. It is a great reward for the team we have at Alumet and the brilliant work they have achieved over the past year.”

The award also recognised the company’s continued success with its Able Facade System, a bomb-blast resistant walling system, which has recently been specified for the new Portsmouth Ferry Terminal.

“We have completely overhauled our systems and procedures over the last year in order to minimise our impact on the environment,” Dean continued. “We have also created a wildlife garden at our head offices to provide staff with somewhere to relax at break times.”

The company is hosting a Sustainability Open Day on June 4th to showcase its recent achievements to clients and guests from the local community. Their garden will also be officially opened on the day by Dr David Bellamy OBE.
