Aluminium panels in steel city
June 2016

PANEL SYSTEMS supplied aluminium faced glazing panels for the new 3 St Pauls Place office development in Sheffield.

The ten-storey building with views over the Peace Gardens in Sheffield, features Aluglaze panels in two anodised colours: Bronze and Blue-Grey. In total, Panel Systems supplied over 1,100m2 of insulated panels, with a fire-rated core. The panels were specified to meet u-values as low as 0.19w/m2K.

3 St Pauls is a £20m project that is part of the £180m Heart of the City scheme, backed by Sheffield City Council. The building includes 80,000 sq ft of new office space and is adjacent to no 1 and 2 St Pauls and the Mercure St Paul’s hotel. Due to the limited space available around the site, the panels were supplied in carefully co-ordinated site deliveries to enable crane offload. This also helped to meet the tight build schedule required on the contract.

As well as enhancing the building’s aesthetics, the insulated panels also help to reduce energy consumption and the carbon footprint due to their high performance insulated core. Aluglaze panels can be supplied in different thicknesses with a variety of core materials to achieve U-values as low as 0.15W/m²K.

Aluglaze is typically used when aesthetic considerations are paramount and is available in all Interpon D, Syntha Pulvin and Anodised colours.
