New machinery
Elumatec has launched two new machines.
A requirement for improved performance and efficiency from Elumatec’s first automatic machining centre, the SBZ 130, has result is the introduction of the SBZ131 - a high performance three-axis automatic machining centre.
Tool changing and operational cycles have been improved using an octuple turret capable of handling up to eight standard tools or angle routing heads. Rotating angle heads allow processing on five profile sides, while maximum accuracy and optimum cutting results are achieved through the computer controlled electronic cutter spindle.
Where the SBZ131 really scores on efficiency is the ability to split the 7.2m long machine into two independent sections. “This clever design makes the most efficient use of the machining head as it can hop between the two sections, allowing one section to be unloaded and reloaded while the second section is being processed,” said managing director Phil Heavey. “This improves effectiveness, significantly reduces waiting time and increases daily output. Exactly the benefits our customers have been asking for.”
Elumatec has also launched a leaner version of the five-axis SBZ150 automatic machining centre, now in four sizes: 4m, 6m, 7m and 9m. “This is a completely revamped and updated SBZ150 representing the latest technological improvements in automated aluminium and steel profile processing,” said Phil. “The computer-controlled five-axis operation ensures the greatest accuracy and efficiency for all imaginable processing; it’s the dream piece of machinery for window, door and curtain walling manufacturers.”
