We come to you... Business Micros has launched a series of new ‘We Come to You’ promotions, in a bid to counter customers’ reluctance to attend exhibitions and open days. The software specialist has devised a programme of three day visits by members of its sales and support team to different regions of the UK making appointments with all the Business Micros customers in that area and talking to them about their software needs. Graeme Bailey, managing director of Business Micros, said: “This is much more than a series of sales calls and there is certainly no hard sell involved. Instead, it’s about giving customers previews of the programmes we’re working on, showing them perhaps how our rental options could save them money or even tweaking the software which they have so that it works better for their business. In fact, many of the things which previously they would have learnt at an exhibition but which they might now miss out on because they often don’t have time to attend. “We have the people and resources to be able to invest in this type of proactive programme and of course we have excellent customer relationships, which means our customers are very keen to see us.” In the first series of visits in the South East region, Business Micros contacted 33 customers who have support agreements on their software and was able to arrange appointments at 32 of these – evidence the company says of the positive response to the initiative. “Customers are less likely to attend exhibitions because they have too much time pressure on them,” Graeme continued. “It doesn’t mean that they don’t still want to talk to their suppliers or find out about new innovations. We’ve addressed that issue and come up with a positive programme which has been really well received.”
