Innovation from Alumet
Alumet won the Business Innovation award at the Warwickshire Business Awards, held at the Ricoh Arena on Tuesday 11th May.
Managing director Gary Summers and Director Dean Walton collected the awards from presenter David Moorcroft OBE (Olympian and former 5,000m world record holder).
The Business Innovation Award was in recognition of Alumet’s successful Able Facade System – a pre-fabricated blast-resistant walling system. With a record £6.3m order already complete, the system has recently been specified for the new Portsmouth Ferry Terminal.
The finalist award for Business of the Year recognised the company’s achievements during the recent recession, where despite cuts throughout the industry, the company still secured significant orders – taking over £10 worth of orders in November alone. The award also recognised the company’s achievements in recently being listed for the first time as one of the UK’s top five specialist facade contractors.
Gary Summers said: “We are delighted to win the Business Innovator Award. Innovation is a key driving force within Alumet and it’s great that our staff are receiving the recognition they deserve. Twelve of our team attended the awards and we all had a great night.”
