Durable doors

Schüco's ADS and ADS HD (heavy duty) range offer excellent thermal values and outstanding durability, the company claims, and the range includes single and double doors that comply with Secured by Design criteria. The company is currently investing in an ongoing certification programme to increase the number of approved variations still further.

The doors have been designed with rebated thermally insulated frames, have a maximum width of 1.4m and are fully compatible with Schüco AWS windows. They are suitable for all kinds of commercial buildings, schools and hospitals, as well as high-quality dwellings.

The heavy duty version, ADS HD, is available in three depths: 65mm, 70mm and 75mm. Designed for high-traffic entrances, the ADS HD has barrel hinges – with multi-directional adjustment – that have been tested to 1 million cycles and can accommodate leaf weights of up to 200kg and heights up to 3m. All single and double doors in both standard and heavy duty versions have been security tested to EN V 1627.

The ADS door is designed for use in more lightly trafficked areas such as side doors and balcony doors where thermal insulation is more important. Available in five frame depths from 50mm to 75mm, its barrel hinges have been tested to 200,000 cycles and can carry leaf weights up to 150kg and heights of 2.5m.

Anti-fingertrap door jamb options can be specified and there is a range of panic exit fittings for single and double doors tested to EN 179 and EN 1125. Panic doors to meet Class 2 EN V 1627 are also available.

In addition, the Schüco aluminium door range contains 30- and 60-minute fire-rated versions (EI 30 and EI 60) and there is also a non-thermally insulated swing door fitted with a concealed transom closer and fingertrap protection.
