Crowning glory

Achieving the highest rating for a residential aluminium window in The Green Guide to Specification (B rating), the new Crown Window System from Sapa Building Systems will greatly assist specifiers and developers seeking compliance with the more advanced levels of The Code for Sustainable Homes.

Sapa said that the Crown Window System is an ideal as a replacement system for steel windows in existing buildings due to its slim frame sightline. This thermally broken aluminium casement window has particular application for window replacement in home improvement, social housing and private residential apartment blocks.
  
Capable of achieving a Window Energy Rating (WER) of A and a Uw value of 1.6W/m2k with just conventional double glazed sealed units, the Crown system is independently tested to BSEN6375 Part 1 for high weather performance (600Pa air and water, 2000Pa wind resistance) plus resistance to mechanical loads to BSEN 6375 Part2.
 
It is available in a range of profile shapes, from ‘Softline’ traditional ovolo through to contemporary square and ultra slim. A choice of straight or cranked handles gives options for reduced fabricator stockholding stock (straight) or enhanced ergonomics (cranked).
