With such a wide area of the supply chain covered amongst the Pavilion stands, we are expecting really good levels of interest. The Aluminium Pavilion is an excellent opportunity to meet architects, specifiers and the supply chain who want to know about the very latest on standards, regulations and best practice. We also have the opportunity to highlight our ongoing work with aluminium and sustainability and promote our free member seminar programmes.
The first of these seminars is entitled ‘20 Top Contractual Nightmares’and will again be presented by Geraldine Fleming, Executive Director, Knowles and will be held at the Mercure Leicester - The Grand Hotel on Thursday 25 February 2016. Geraldine will cover a number of topics such as: Tender issues; Liquidated damages; Defects; Variations and Payments; Damage; Collateral warranties; Claims and Insolvency. To date the seminars have been able to resolve a number of member queries and also suggest new and improved internal processes for companies to be better prepared in the future. Members have used the opportunity to bring the pre and post contract team together to highlight best practice and share concerns with an expert from a global leader in construction disputes.
In 2016, it is planned to host around 4 seminars in the Midlands and North, considering areas such as 10 Top Contractual Nightmares, Checking Contracts, Pre & Post Contract Awareness and JCT Contracts. In addition, it is planned to host at least a couple of Health & Safety seminars looking at Legislation and Application.
CAB’s popular Marketing Forums will also continue into 2016 with a number of topical speakers.
