GM plans birthday bash to mark a quarter century of fundraising
February 2020

GM Fundraising has announced plans for a Silver Jubilee Ball in May to mark 2020 as its 25th year of fundraising.

The organisation, which recently announced it is aiming to hit a total target of £2million in its anniversary year, is also launching a special logo to use the milestone to promote its activities throughout the year.

Founder Gary Morton, announcing the Ball, said he and other organisers had no idea when they launched the initiative what it would grow into. He added: “There’s a huge thank you due to everyone who’s supported us over the years, whether it’s by taking part in one of our challenges, donating sponsorship money or providing their time and expertise. Together, we’ve raised an incredible amount for Hope House Children’s Hospices, which is the most important achievement.”

GM Fundraising is known for its spectacular gala dinners, annual golf days, GMF Cup, Ryder Cup style golf event, long-distance cycle rides and footy fives competition. One of biggest of this year’s challenges will be the second all-women event, Peak, Paddle, Pedal with Epwin Group as headline sponsor, which see the 12 members of the team climb Snowdon, canoe 150 miles down the River Severn and cycle 150 miles back to Hope House in Oswestry over eight days in August.

GM Fundraising was established in 1995 and has been raising funds for Hope House Children’s Hospices ever since. Over 95% of Hope House’s £5 million annual operating costs are met through donations and GM Fundraising remains its biggest single annual donor.

The Silver Jubilee Ball will be at the Celtic Manor Resort, Newport, Wales on May 16. Tickets are £1,495 for a table of ten. All profits go to Hope House Children’s Hospices.
