CAB Mini-conference - ‘New Era for Specification?’
February 2018
Over 115 CAB members and guests are already booked for the latest Regional Members’ mini-conference at the Carriageworks, Leeds on Thursday 8 March. An expert panel chaired by Chris Ashworth, MD, Competitive Advantage will consider the theme of ‘New Era for Specification?’. Joining Chris will be John Beaumont, Quality Manager, Bowmer & Kirkland who previously worked for a specialist aluminium contractor and Jason Clarke, Director, DLA Architecture.
The expert panellists will broadly consider:
• The issues surrounding changes in Specifier attitudes - we are all too aware as a sector of Judith Hackitt’s interim review, of Building Regulations and Fire Safety, which places a lot of focus on issues such as competency but also raises the point of avoiding a culture of building to the legal minimum.
• Exploring whether this might lead to Architects and Engineers spending more time developing product specifications
• The implications for construction product manufacturers, especially CAB member companies.
The mini-conference will again follow the popular format of interactive panel discussions and is followed by a dinner at Aspire in the centre of Leeds. For further details on this and other CAB events please email julie.harley@c-a-b.org.uk
