Key roles
The Council for Aluminium in Building (CAB) and the Glass and Glazing Fenestration (GGF) were recently elected to key roles within the Federation of European Window and Curtain Walling Manufacturers’ Associations (FAECF). At FAECF’s 2011 AGM, held at the ‘Made’ construction exhibition in Millan, the Federation elected Nico Kramers of the VMRG in the Netherlands as the new president, supported by CAB’s immediate past president Adrian Toon as vice president. Patrick England, CAB’s technical consultant was voted onto the executive committee as technical consultant and Giles Willson, Deputy CEO and director of technical affairs at the GGF was elected general secretary. Together with 13 other European national associations CAB and GGF address political, marketing and technical issues that face the metal facade industry across Europe. With common agreement on issues that affect our industry, FAECF representatives who sit on all the committees relating to the fenestration industry can influence the politicians in Brussels and ensure that our industry is given a chance to influence the new EN and ISO standards. With the new FAECF team in place the Federation is determined to become more influential across Europe and promote the very best technical standards for the European facade industry. The work within FAECF will also strengthen links with other supply chain associations and bodies such as the International Aluminium Institute (IAA), the European Aluminium Association (EAA), the Council of European Producers of Material for Construction (CEPMC), Qualicoat and the Association for European Surface Treatment on Aluminium (ESTAL). www.faecf.org
