Good green employer

The Alumet Group has been listed in Building magazine's Good Employers Guide for a second year running.

The guide identifies and showcases the very best companies to work for in the construction industry, based on key factors such as employee benefits, diversity and leadership.

A revamped judging panel assessed Alumet’s entry form for this year’s listing, highlighting the company's successes in employee benefits such as their Cycle to Work scheme, flexible working hours and 28 days holiday.

The company was also successful at the EEF Future Manufacturing Regional Awards in November where it received the Midlands award for Climate Change Opportunity.

The award recognised Alumet's commitment to the environment over the past year which has included among other things, achieving ISO 14001, installing a wildlife garden, expanding its environmental team and diversifying into renewable technologies through their EOS Energy brand of solar panels.

The EEF (Engineer’s Employment Federation) is a best practice club for the manufacturing industry. With over a quarter of the UK’s manufacturing businesses as members, the club provides consulting, partnering opportunities and influences legislation.

The judges sited Alumet as an exemplary business, with a business strategy that demonstrates how a company with a strong corporate social responsibility ethos can also be one of the most efficient and profitable in the industry. They commented that Alumet demonstrates “a resilience, determination and ingenuity that is the pinnacle of UK manufacturing”.

Alumet will now go on to represent the Midlands at the national EEF Awards in London on 26th January.
