All Aboard For Another Flagship CAB Members’ Meeting
August 2018
|
CAB is delighted to be returning to the iconic SS Great Britain in Bristol for our second Regional Members’ meeting of 2018 on Wednesday 17 October, some 13 years after our first event there in 2005. Launched in 1843 as the world’s first luxury liner, the ship lies in the heart of Bristol’s thriving harbour side and is the city’s No. 1 visitor attraction. Click here to book your place.
CAB mini-conference
Our mini-conference which is free for members to attend, takes place in the Great Eastern Hall, a new addition to the venue located on the harbour side adjacent to the ship with easy onsite parking. The conference theme is: ‘Standards, Testing, Certification and Compliance post Brexit’
A list of key speakers will be announced very shortly. The conference will look to address the following key issues:
• The CPR and CE Marking post Brexit
• UK involvement with European Standards
• Test requirements and certification schemes
• UK Notified Bodies post Brexit
While these points may pose more questions than answers, we feel it is imperative for members to know where their industry currently stands. We know that this topic is of concern to members as it was the top response in our recent Technical Conference feedback form regarding future events.
Training and FIT Show 2019
CAB will also be taking the opportunity to update members on a raft of current activities and initiatives. CAB has recently established a formal Training Committee which amongst other things has inputted into various new Trailblazer Apprenticeship Standards. On the marketing front there will be an update on the CAB Pavilion at the FIT Show 2019 which is attracting growing interest from members involved in systems, hardware manufacturer, powder coating, fabrication, shading devices and weatherproofing. The interest generated to date, in addition to members’ who have booked their own stands (see https://www.fitshow.co.uk/exhibit/floorplan ) underlines the confidence in the FIT Show itself but also the confidence in strong sales growth and capital investment forecast in the recent Q2 CAB State of Market Survey.
