Byrom Point, Liverpool
August 2018
Architectural aluminium glazing systems by Kawneer, including its AA100 zone-drained and capped curtain walling and AA540 top-hung casement inserts in an unusual tiger bronze finish, feature on the new Byrom Point mixed-use development on Liverpool’s Great Crosshall Street.
Designed by Falconer Chester Hall architects and built by main contractor Watkin Jones, the redevelopment of a derelict site comprises 398 bed spaces of student accommodation set out within 69 clusters and 53 studios over 14 floors with 361m2 of retail space on the ground floor.
The Kawneer glazing systems for the window features have been used alongside coloured spandrel panels of varying colours and columns of pale stone cladding interspersed with coloured and perforated metal cladding.
