Ahead Of The Curve
August 2015

Mila is launching a new version of its popular ProLinea espag handle with a gently sweeping handle inspired by the contours of the latest contemporary window profiles.

The new shape is more subtle than the current ProLinea cranked espag handle and is being launched to meet the changing tastes of homeowners.

Richard Gyde, Mila’s Managing Director, says that Mila is constantly tracking and reviewing customer tastes to ensure that the whole of its product range reflects wider style trends.

He says:  “No matter how popular our products are, we are always looking at how they work with the various window and door profiles used by our customers and of course how they fit into modern homes.  This allows us to stay ‘ahead of the curve’ in introducing new shapes and finishes and gives our customers a crucial competitive advantage.

“We obviously monitor our own sales to analyse trends and we track what the systems companies are doing but we also respond to interior design trends wherever possible.

“With this new handle shape, it’s all about subtlety and understated elegance – very much in line with the more minimalist styling in many contemporary homes.

“Because we have our own in house design and product development team, we can respond promptly to changes in the market and we bring new or enhanced products to market quickly.

“We did this again recently when we changed the styling on our ProSecure patio handle and it is an ongoing process in areas such as finishes and colours.”

The new ProLinea espag handle is available in Mila’s full range of suited finishes including satin, polished and smokey chrome, polished gold, black and white.

Mila expects the most popular finish after white to be polished chrome since, over recent years, this has overtaken polished gold as the preferred choice amongst home owners.

Mila’s own figures show that, across its window handle ranges, polished chrome now outsells polished gold by almost three to one and it outsells satin chrome by almost ten to one.

Richard Gyde adds:  “We liaise constantly with customers to ensure that our product range meets market demand and, as this new launch shows, we respond quickly so that they can take advantage of new opportunities”
