CEO Pluck leaves GGF

The GGF confirmed that its chief executive Phil Pluck has left the organisation – the last in a line of senior management departures that has also seen two presidents, a chief executive and both a chief executive and MD of the body’s major subsidiaries all leave in the space of less than two years.

Six months ago, at a members’ meeting, Phil Pluck had responded to media coverage of recent top-level departures in a speech that the organisation said: ‘shattered the myth that the GGF was in turmoil’.

Prior to that, Alan Burgess had ‘stepped down prematurely’ after four months as president read story just a year after Andrew Glover ended his six months as president, citing ‘pressure of time’ read story.

Soon after that, long-standing chief executive Nigel Rees announced his retirement saying “The time is right for new ideas and a fresh management approach to deal with the challenges ahead.” read story

That August, Chris Mayne stepped down as MD of GGF subsidiaries Fensa and BFRC, later to re-emerge as CEO or Corgi Fenestration and now heading up its new Installer Scheme read story. Also, last year, Jon Vanstone, CEO of Fensa and the GGF’s Helix Group, left and was recently announced as chairman of rival certification body Certass read story.

This week, following a direct question by The Glazine several days earlier, the GGF formally announced Phil Pluck’s departure including a statement from president John Agnew: "Under the leadership of Phil Pluck the entire GGF Group has undergone a period of transformational change with a clear strategic plan now in place. The GGF Board are indebted to Phil for the key role that he has played in driving forward the changes needed for the business. His clear strategic vision coupled with the focus on behavioural and cultural management practices have been key skill sets that the GGF Group has benefited from.”

Phil Pluck said in a statement to members: “It is with huge sadness that I have to announce my departure from the GGF Group. It has been an absolute privilege to have served as your CEO and in a short space of time we have all done so much to make the GGF Group a better place and to increase its value to members and our many customers.”
