CAB Programmes paying dividends
April 2016
As we surge into the middle of Q2 and stop to take breath, it is good to note that CAB’s varied programme of exhibitions, seminars, contractual and health and safety training and drive for increasing added value for membership is starting to pay dividends.
Our 9th successive stand at Ecobuild, which was attended by over 30,000 visitors, was one of our most successful to date, with 2 leading brands AGC Glass (UK) and Adshead Ratcliffe & Co who both visited the stand joining up. CAB is delighted to welcome both companies who are leaders in their respective fields. The show itself again highlighted the cliché that it is quality not volume that counts. The considered feedback from the 7 member companies who shared our CAB Aluminium Pavilion was largely very positive with stand exhibitors impressed with the senior level contacts that they were able to make over the 3 days. The CAB lounge was well utilised by member exhibitors and the synergy within the stand was there for all to see with systems companies, installers, glazing products businesses, fabricators, finishers and a test house all represented.
CAB is delighted to have also attracted into membership recently a number of fabricators: Norwich Aluminium, Alimatic Architectural Aluminium Systems, IDF Aluminium and Ridgeway Glazing. In addition we are pleased to welcome Dyer Environmental and Sherwin- Williams Diversified Brands who signed up to CAB earlier in 2016. While there is no doubt that companies join for a variety of different reasons, it is clear that technical support and being kept up to date with the myriad of regulations and standards changes is key. It is also interesting to listen to just how many companies feel that they need to widen their exposure and contacts within the expanding domestic and commercial aluminium sectors and they see CAB as their essential trade body within this sector.
CAB continues to promote the availability of its free contractual awareness seminars and further health and safety training. Our next Contracts seminar is in Sheffield on Tuesday 7 June 2016 and is entitled ‘Formation of contracts and general contract conditions’ and there are two free places for all CAB members.
