Care home installation

An innovative type of roof is being installed by architectural metal roofing and cladding company T R Freeman as part of a new care home being constructed.

The £100,000 contract was awarded to TR Freeman by contractor Wates.

TR Freeman will put the versatile and state-of-the-art Kalzip roof onto the Lakeview Lodge in Cannock, Staffordshire. The same material was used on the O2 Arena and Wimbledon Tennis Court No.1.

Gary Webb, managing director of TR Freeman, said: "This is a fantastic roofing material, and as well as looking great, the Lakeview Lodge will gain from its low maintenance and economical benefits.

"This is an exciting project for us and we are really looking forward to seeing the finished building.”

TR Freeman specialises in metal roofing and cladding, and thrives on projects that use pioneering materials, such as this one. It was formed more than 120 years ago and is now part of the well-known Kershaw Group.

The group employs just under 200 people with a turnover of £35 million. It is heavily involved in the local community, including a record-breaking 10-year sponsorship of Cambridge United's away shirts.
