More awards

Specialist contractors Alumet received two awards at the Midlands heat of the Chamber of Commerce Awards in October. The company collected the Green Award as well as the Entrepreneur of the Year Award for managing director Gary Summers.

Alumet will now be representing the Midlands at the national awards on November 25th at the London’s Hurlingham Club.

Neville Reyner, president of the British Chambers of Commerce said: “We’ve been delighted with the consistently high standard of confident companies out there that have been flying the flag for British business, despite the uncertain times we find ourselves in.

“These strong businesses have demonstrated that they are thriving – and they’re doing this through innovation, hard work and determination to succeed at the highest level.

“These awards have revealed some good news for the British economy – which is good news for us all.”

The judges said: “Alumet has seen a great deal of success through innovative facade solutions, including bomb-proof cladding and developments in solar panelling that has brought the company record profits for 2010.”

Director Dean Walton said: “Improving our environmental credentials has been number one on our agenda during the past year. We have invested hundreds of thousands of pounds on improving our facilities, procedures and policies. We aim to become the UK’s most sustainable facade specialist.”
