Machinery addition

Specialist facade contractor Alumet has recently added an Emmegi Quadra Aluminium 12 axis CNC machine (value circa £400k) to the production facilities at its Warwickshire headquarters.

Alumet is the only company in the UK, and the sixth company worldwide, to have received the new model.

The system features six spindles for 360 degree machining and a descending blade for cutting and notching of profiles this allows the company to significantly increase the accuracy and quality of its production methods.

The system has been installed in the company's Innovation Centre, a £500,000 production facility which was officially opened by HRH the Duke of Kent in 2008.

Production director Paul Summers said: “We are very proud to be the first company in the UK to receive this new system from Emmegi. The Quadra will allow us to further improve the standard of products and ensure that we remain at the forefront of the façade industry.

“It was also important to choose a supplier we know and trust.  We have used the Emmegi product for the last 15 years having computerised saws and stand alone CNC machining centres already; the quality and reliability of the Emmegi product is second to none.  It was also a further comfort dealing direct with Emmegi who are now present in the UK with a branch company.”
