Senior Architectural Systems recently acquired the assets of AWJ Glass in Scarborough. The acquisition is in line with the company’s strategic plan to be able to offer a wide range of products and services in the commercial windows, doors and curtain wall market, the company said in a statement. This acquisition provides Seniors with 40,000ft2 of premises along with up-to-date equipment for manufacturing high performance double glazed units together with an experienced workforce. After lengthy negotiations over the last few weeks, Seniors acquired the company’s assets on Monday, 26th October. Lennart Jonsson, managing director of Senior Architectural Systems, said: “We are delighted to have acquired the assets of AWJ Glass together with a very experienced workforce. I can confirm that the business will remain in Scarborough and we are looking forward to developing the business further. Seniors is now the only systems company in the UK who can offer both fenestration systems and high performance glazing – this combination will allow us to develop some very exciting products in the future whilst offering our existing customers an even broader range of products.” Seniors are currently undertaking a restructure of AWJ Glass and the newly formed business will be fully operational on Monday, 2nd November.
