New MD at SGG

Saint-Gobain Glass UK has announced two key management changes.

Saint-Gobain Glass UK will, from the end of December 2009, have a new managing director, while the outgoing head of the company, Dr Alan McLenaghan, moves to Saint-Gobain’s Container Glass division. The new incumbent, Pierre Lucien-Brun, joins from Saint-Gobain Glass Solutions, where he has held various management posts over the past 20 years.

At the same time a second appointment will take place, as Norman Barker, the company’s sales manager, prepares for retirement in June 2010. Continuity will be maintained with Saint-Gobain Glass’ long-established marketing manager, Derek Dragten, assuming the additional sales responsibilities by becoming sales and marketing director from 1st January 2010.

Alan McLenaghan said: “I have immense pride in having played my part in the creation of Saint-Gobain Glass UK and specifically the three manufacturing plants at Eggborough. It has been marvelous to have been a part of taking SGGUK from concept to the huge success it has become today. Eggborough is one of Saint Gobain Glass’ most successful plants by any measure and I am sure it will remain so. I have had a great team around me and I know that they will ensure that the success continues with Pierre, whom the team looks forward to welcoming to Yorkshire.”
